Wurde Anfang April noch über Twitter bekanntgegeben, dass Driveclub keine Mikrotransaktionen haben würde, so wurde nun die sprichwörtliche Kehrtwende hingelegt: In einem Interview bestätigte Driveclub Director Paul Rustchynsky, dass man Fahrzeuge für Echtgeld kaufen würde. Wer keine Lust habe, die Fahrzeuge nach und nach über das Sammeln von Fame freizuschalten, könne den Traumwagen auch direkt für Echtgeld bekommen. Die Spieler hätten dabei die freie Wahl und keine Vor- oder Nachteile.
