While Nintendo may not be holding a large-scale E3 conference this year, the Big N has promised that the company will be there on the show floor and delivering news through Nintendo Directs.

In it's NPD response today, Nintendo confirmed its E3 presence, and even gave fans an idea of what games they'll have to look forward to in June:

At the upcoming E3 trade show in June in Los Angeles, Nintendo expects to show attendees upcoming Wii U games from the Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. franchises.

I'd imagine that the Zelda games in question are likely The Wind Waker HD, but perhaps we could be pleasantly surprised with at least another brief mention of the new Zelda for the Wii U. Mario and Mario Kart for the Wii U seem to also be confirmed as appearing, as well as Smash Bros.

Personally, I'm the most excited about Smash Bros. being in attendance; hopefully they'll announce a new character or two, and possibly show us some screenshots or a trailer. Seeing more Zelda action will also be a perk.

UPDATE: Iwata's got some news for us:

It looks like we'll be seeing some Smash info a tad earlier than we thought; looks like Nintendo's intending to engulf the entire duration of E3 with constant announcements.

What are you looking forward to seeing at E3?
