My very first Deadpool experience was the two stories contained in a reprint volume of Deadpool issues #1-5. Apparently, he is a product of Weapon X, and has unique regenerative powers, which means that he is "immune to death", a handy trait when fighting the Skrull Invasion, or zombie vampires, as happens in this collection, which consists of a three-part Skrull story and a two-part `zampire' story. He also hallucinates frequently and talks to himself a lot, which is handy for filling in the back-story as we go along. The main storyline is always entertaining, and quite humorous, with slightly cartoony artwork, which suitably matches the tenor of these two stories, reprinted in is this volume - Deadpool Volume 1: Secret Invasion TPB: Secret Invasion v. 1 (Graphic Novel Pb) - along with an 8-page `Deadpool Saga', an illustrated text piece filling in the back-story, of which there seems to be much, including at least two different origins

THE SPOILER ZONE

The first storyline, "One of Us", in issues #1-3, has Deadpool attacking a Skrull warship which has landed in a baseball stadium, while initially disguised as a team mascot - a creature which reminds me of an alien that was the pet of a character called Space Ranger back in the 1960s. He then infiltrates and finally cripples the ship, before presenting himself to the Skrull commander as a volunteer for the Skrull service.

Issue #2: After volunteering to join the Skrull forces, Deadpool is shipped off to the science department for `dissection and examination'.

As a character, Deadpool hasn't really been done justice in some of his comic outings. This collection is one of the few that balances Deadpool's insanity and his deadly mercenary side. There is scope for silliness, as is the character's wont, but it doesn't go overboard.

I bought this book as a present for my boyfriend. He's a big fan of Deadpool, but hasn't read much about him. This book had him chuckling (slightly evilly) to himself, so it sounds like it's a hit!

As always, great delivery time and no issues with packaging.

This tells the story of what Deadpool was up to during the Skrull invasion and is extremely funny, not much more I can say without ruining the story so if you like Deadpool buy it and you will not be disappointed!

This is deadpool issues 1-5, A very good start to the new series. the first 3 issues are from secret invasion were deadpool in his own unique way takes on a skrull space ship by trapping it in a baseball stadium. I really liked this story, in my opinion its better then the secret invasion proper story.
The next story issues 4 + 5 is a broke deadpool takes on a job killing and capturing supermodel zombies, very good and very funny.
In all i would give this book 4.5 out of 5.
I would recomend this book to superhero fans with a sense of humor.

For being one of the first comic books I have ever read, as I am just getting into them, I have to recommend Deadpool to anybody who wants to get into a series that is very interesting and incredibly hilarious! Fantastic read!

The Artwork is fantastic, the jokes are hilarious and the story is actually quite gripping as well!
